There are many people that ask me why I am so involved with Ford Yacht Club and many times I have struggled to answer them in a way that would make sense to them. Today, that question was answered with the tears of gratitude of a grand woman, with the laughter of members telling bad jokes, with the beer toasts to friends we lost and unquestionable concern for each other's well being. This is one of those days that that made my heart beam with pride in the camaraderie, love and friendships that make this club more than a marina. Today, over 40 members got together and took care of two boats of fellow members who needed a hand. It was not out of duty, it was out of love. It was a reason to get be together, to count our personal blessings and support those we call friends. I have seen it many times in many forms over the years here and I know I will continue to see it.
