Personal Information

I am a second generation member,  Third Child of the late Past Commodore Richard (Dick) Boettner and Lady Carolyn.  They join back in 1974.  I grow up enjoying the family atmosphere of the club.  We did family vacations with many other members and grown up with a love for the water.  My brother joined in 1989 and I was pleased to join shortly after in 1996.  Our sister has been down many time and lives in Atlanta, GA.  My first boat that I own was a 1996 Boston Whaler (K.O.B.), a 17' power, which I still have.  My second boat was a Force 5 (Bud Light), a 14' day sailboat, I still own that one also.  My third boat was a J-Boat (Leap'n Lizard), 22' sail boat.  I raced this boat for about four years and then sold it to a young Canadian.  He has traveled the boat to Nation events all over the US and Canada.  My current big boat is a Chris Craft (Joint Cu$tidy), 35' Catalina double cabin.
Shortly after I joined I had the honor of serving on the Board of Directors.  Started out as the equipment director and after 9 years of service and holding different positions on the BOD, I was elected to Chairman 2008. It was a great experience and enjoy the many years of working with BOD.  After taking some time to myself I started getting involved again and was appointed Sail Fleet Captain by Com. Steve Gravlin.  After which, I ran for 2018 Rear Commodore.
2018 has been a great year!  Jim and I have meet many new friends in our club and at other clubs.  Representing Ford Yacht Club as Rear Com. has been an exciting time and looking forward to 2019 as Vice Commodore.  This will involve us to be heading up the entertainment for the club.  I hope I can do everyone proud!
